Our Story
Javi and Melita have been enthusiastically talking about art ever since they met at a fundraiser in 2005. Specifically, they talked about the painting that Javi had generously donated to the cause.
In fact, Melita had already noticed the gorgeous painting, and Javi had already noticed Melita. Talking about art just sealed the deal.
Since their love-at-first-site moment, Javi and Melita have woven together a vivid life of arranging their lives around art, and doing good things in the world. On any given day, you can find Javi in the Artworkstudio or on his bike, and Melita at yoga class or arranging something. (She is particularly adept at arranging art events, as well as color-coding calendars and closets.)

Over the years, Melita and Javi have been inspired to give their time and treasure to a number of non-profits throughout North America. These organizations do good work in service to the community and perform it with creativity and love. Now that’s something Javi and Melita know a little something about!
Our Mission
The Javier López Cantú Artworkstudio mission is to make thought-provoking art accessible to all.
Javi’s work may be purchased in a variety of formats to fit your budget: original paintings, posters, art cards and at auctions for charities who are difference-makers in their communities. Creating in Austin since 1999, Javier works with gouache as well as oil on canvas. Javier’s work ranges from colorful abstract works to concentrated social and political commentary.
